MediMike Insurance’s Background

I vow to always treat my clients with the same dignity and respect as I do with my patients.

I began my professional career as a Registered Nurse and discovered as time went on that I absolutely enjoyed helping people. I noticed how Medicare beneficiaries struggled with the Medicare process and decided to become a valuable resource in the Medicare field and earn my life and health insurance license. Over the past three years I've had the opportunity to represent clients on a personal, relationship-based level and keep the decision-making process as impartial as possible.

I am licensed with most of the Medicare product insurance carriers In Connecticut. I am also licensed in 4 other states at this time.

Laura, Jax, baby Jade and myself are centrally located. I assist beneficiaries among all CT counties. I provide virtual and office consultations. I will also travel to you!

All consultations are at no cost to you and I am always willing to answer any questions you have with no pressure or obligation.

How I Help At No Cost To You

Signing up for original Medicare Parts A and B

Medicare part A and part B are known as Original Medicare. Part A is your hospital coverage and Part B is your medical Coverage. If you and/or your spouse paid FICA taxes for 10 years (40 quarters), your part A premium should be $0. Most beneficiaries pay a monthly premium for part B but some individuals may pay as low as $0 depending on your income.

I help guide all of my clients with the sign up process in a timely manner to help avoid potential late enrollment penalties. Sometimes you may find that signing up for Medicare may not be the best option for you if you continue to work and need the health insurance through your employer for your younger spouse or children. I also assist clients in applying for programs that may lower or reduce their part B premium, medical copays, prescription drug costs, and medical coinsurances.

Again, this service is at no cost to you!

Additional Coverage Options-                Supplemental Insurance and Prescription Drug Plan

Original Medicare (Parts A and B) were never designed to be full medical Coverage. Original Medicare does not include prescription drug coverage. It also does not include additional ancillary benefits. You are also responsible for roughly 20% of all of your healthcare costs with no Maximum out of pocket.

Private insurance companies offer Supplements to original Medicare also known as Medigap plans (Medicare supplements). For an additional premium, you may reduce your copays, deductibles, and any other health care costs covered by Medicare to very little out of pocket and in some circumstances to $0 out of pocket.

A prescription drug plan may decrease prescription drug costs dramatically. It is recommended to purchase a Part D prescription drug plan (some have a very low monthly cost) even if you do not take prescription drugs. Your doctor may prescribe a vital yet expensive drug that has no manufacturer or other discounts. You can only add a Part D plan certain times of the year. This may leave you open to financial burden.

Additional Coverage Options-                        Medicare Advantage Plans (Managed care or Part C)

Alternative options that some Medicare Beneficiaries have are also offered by private insurance companies. These plans are similar to what we are used to with our employer coverage such as an HMO or PPO insurance model that have copays, coinsurances, maximum out of pockets, and deductibles.

Many of these plans have a $0 premium and some are rich in Ancillary benefits. Many of these plans also include a prescription drug plan that may have a $0 monthly premium.

My job would be to help make sure that your doctors are in network and that your medications are in the plan's formulary. The wrong decision may cost you financially.

There are many of these plan options available in CT. I can assist comb through and research the plans in order to find an option that fits both your needs and preferences.
